Year of the French to film nakręcony na podstawie noweli Thomasa Flanagana o tym samym tytule. Autor ten napisał też kilka słów wstępu do tego albumu. W filmie zobaczyć można nawet przez chwilę samych Chieftainsów, grających samych siebie, ale nie wygląda na to, żeby ten fakt jakoś specjalnie ich zachwycił. A ogólnie film opowiada o końcu rewolucji francuskiej i o grupce Irlandczyków zaplątanych w wydarzenia tamtych dni.
